I’m back in California, rested and refreshed. Yesterday we celebrated my son’s high school graduation and today it’s a barbeque with all of our neighbors. This week will be slow since we’re caretakers for my niece and nephew while their mom is on retreat. I’m trying to remember how I kept littles busy during the summer at that age, I remember it was a challenge to get them away from screens and into the sunshine, wish me luck! I started watching Palm Royale on AppleTV, the plot has some holes in it but I can’t stop watching just for the…

I had a small niche in my dining room I wanted to fill with a bar cabinet to store glassware and table linens but couldn’t find one that was the right size and color for my space. As an alternative, the storage piece I created to fit inside the niche came together with an IKEA Maximera cabinet painted light mint green combined with gold legs and brass pulls. I gave it even more personality by wallpapering the interior with a retro tropical pattern and adding four sleek brass cabinet pulls.  The supply list for this DIY bar cabinet is below:…

Welcome to the spot I enjoy my morning coffee and where I like to listen to podcasts or doze off in the shade. I just love spending time here in the early mornings and late afternoons. I bought this white and gray outdoor sofa back in January, assembled it myself, and it’s held up beautifully even when it’s been sitting in full Florida sun. The clean lines and white frame complements the style of our house and it’s my favorite place to lounge outside! It’s that season for sprucing up our patios and porches to spend more time outdoors. Here’s…

Many people’s ultimate goal is to turn their house into a home. A house is something you might purchase, but a home is a place you get to call your own and, in some cases, allow yourself to display your personality and love for style and aesthetics. First and foremost, a hardwood floor, much like your home itself, can be considered a long-term investment. Carpeting might cost less than hardwood flooring, but the amount of upkeep you’ll need to…

I brought them home and got to work, using some leftover tile adhesive and grout I had in my garage. With…
